The 2011 Scout Popcorn campaign has started! Scout Popcorn is the National Fundraising program for Scouts Canada. Over 60% of the Scout Popcorn sales stay right in 1st New Maryland.

Each year we use the monies raised from Scout Popcorn to subsidize camp costs, purchase badges and crests for the programs, as well as other materials for the groups.

This year we hope to purchase a large Cabin Tent with a stove for late fall/winter camping.

We will be distributing the forms and materials on Monday, September 26 to each section. 

The campaign runs from September 21-October 23rd. Order collection night is October 24th.

Selling FAQs

Is your Beaver/Cub/Scout Expected to Sell?

We are not forcing anyone to sell popcorn. This is a voluntary fundraising event. While we hope everyone participates of course, we understand that not everyone is able to. That is okay!

Who Should Cheques be Made Payable to?

When you are selling popcorn, please ensure that cheques are made payable to 1st New Maryland Scouts.

Is the Money Required When the Customer Orders?

It depends on who you are selling to. We have 30 days to pay after the order is placed, so if you want to have the person pay now or later, it is up to you. Some people will want to pay when placing the order, some will prefer to pay afterwards. Please make sure you keep excellent records to track who has paid and who has not paid you. 

Our group is responsible to pay for everything we order.

When is the Order Being Placed?

Colelction night is Monday, October 24th. All orders must be in the system by October 26th. If you have money with your order, please send it in with that. Envelopes will be provided.

Can we Accept Post Dated Cheques?

Yes. Providing they are dated before the popcorn is delivered (November 15 probably).

When is the Popcorn Being Delivered?

The date I am being given right now is that they expect the popcorn to be delivered to 1st New Maryland on or about November 15.

When are the Prizes for the Youth Arriving?

The gift cards are ordered with our Popcorn Order. Those along with the crests, the Zyclone (if the youth is part of the $600 club), etc. should arrive with our Popcorn order mid-November.
