Community Partners

Our group cannot operate without Community Partners, and we appreciate everything our partners do to support Scouts in New Maryland, and more importantly the youth in our programs.

We cannot express everything our Partners have done for us, and continue to do for us in words, but we do need to say thank you! Below are some of our main Community Partners.

New Maryland Lions Club

Our Scouts Canada sponsor is the New Maryland Lions Club. The New Maryland Lions Club is a local service group committed to improving the health and wellness of fellow community members. The club strives to meet the needs of those less fortunate and to make our community a better place. All of the funds raised by the New Maryland Lions Club are returned to the community in a variety of ways, such as scholarships, Christmas boxes, financial assistance, and one of our largest recipients – Portage Atlantic.

We appreciate the assistance the New Maryland Lions Club has provided us over the years.

M.W. Price & Sons

Brian Price and his staff have been invaluable over the years, from giving us space for storage, to supply us with a truck and trailer for our float in the Santa Claus parade, and our annual Christmas Tree Pick-Up. We also have taken many a hike on their property!

Resource Recovery

We would like to thank Resource Recovery (Southside Redemption Centre), for diligently picking up our Bottles and Cans from our drop off bin at the New Maryland Circle K. They volunteered to do this for us, and it is a huge time saver for our volunteers. Thanks Dave and Wanda!

New Maryland Circle K/Irving

Thanks to the staff at the New Maryland Circle K. First for allowing 1st New Maryland Scouts to place our bottle drop off bin at your store, and secondly for locking and unlocking the bin each day. We appreciate your service!

Marwood Ltd.

Thanks to Marwood for your support over the years. Marwood has donated lumber for our Christmas Tree float, the use of a truck and trailer for our Christmas Tree Pick-Up amongst many other things. We thank you for your support!

Thanks for supplying us with a trailer over the years for our annual Christmas Tree Pick-Up. Donations like this make our fundraising that much easier!

New Maryland Fire Department

Fire Chief Harry and his volunteer fire fighters have become a great community partner and resource. Among other things, they host our barbeque lunch each year after our Village Clean-Up, have provided us a meeting space, and are always willing and able to induldge the Beaver Scouts on tours each year!

Village of New Maryland

The Village of New Maryland has always been a big supporter for 1st New Maryland Scouts. We appreciate the staff's help each year with oour Christmas Tree Pick-Up, and numerous other things they have done for us throughout the years. 

New Maryland Contractors

New Maryland Contractors donates the use of a trailer (and sometimes truck!) each year for our annual Christmas Tree Pick-Up fundraiser. Thanks!
